One of DDC’s biggest assets is that we offer clients access to an authentic network of filmmakers and media professionals from nearly every country in the world.
Our commitment to localization goes back to DDC’s earliest days: we established our company in Madagascar, expanded our team in the United States, built a third hub in Colombia, and now have staff in Europe as well. Hiring locally and collaborating with talented media professionals on projects has also been a regular part of the work we do, month in and month out.
Over the past few years, we saw a need to provide immediate production services no matter where our clients need help telling visual stories. So we redoubled our commitment to localization by researching, vetting and maintaining relationships with skilled cinematographers, photographers, and producers in all corners of the globe. Today, DDC’s database boasts hundreds of experienced professionals with an array of skill sets to match whatever project our clients request.
Raven Jackson, Senior Video and Multimedia Producer at CRS, has made full use of DDC’s deep bench of talent over the past few years: “DDC’s global network of animators, videographers, photographers, and other media specialists have allowed our department to complete various types of projects in a short timeframe we wouldn’t be able to achieve with our in-house team. In addition, DDC’s team has consistently provided high quality work and unwavering professionalism to each of our projects. Their reliability is unmatched.”
And DDC’s network is more than just a list of names. Each month, we curate an invite-only, online gathering for our collaborators to meet and discuss aspects of the industry. We spotlight one filmmaker per session to lead a discussion and share their experiences in the field. To date, these sessions have featured a diversity of perspectives from Honduras to Nigeria to Tanzania to the Netherlands, just to name a few. Our goal for our network gatherings is to celebrate each other’s work - and also encourage cross-collaboration, particularly between filmmakers from the Global South.
Carolina Torres, who is based in Colombia and facilitates DDC’s monthly network gatherings, testifies that “our network calls serve as a nexus where talents converge, ideas flow, and connections deepen. It's more than just a forum for talented collaborators to share their knowledge and filmmaking tools; it's a testament to the bonds forged across continents, transcending physical distances to foster a sense of community and purpose.”
Our ever-shrinking world demands great efficiency in communication while also maintaining higher levels of creativity to help our productions stand out in a crowded media landscape. DDC continues to offer solutions to bridge divides, amplifying voices, and engage with talented collaborators who balance professional skill with core cultural competencies.
